Spring is in the air

Hey there, sorry I’ve been away so long. As I told you before, this blog is new to me and I’m still trying to find some kind of schedule for everything I’m doing. You can say I’m structuring my life. Juggeling between family time, crochet, blogging, time with friends,… it takes some planning. Then there is the building of my croshed, which means cleaning and sorting out all the clutter that was in the shed. I also started my spring cleaning, getting rid of all the winterdecoration and replacing it with easter stuff. Oh yeah, and I still have a job too. I’m a nurse so that means I have to work weekends as well. So as you can see, much to do and so little time. Thank God cycling season has started. Being from Belgium, more specific Flanders, it’s kind of hard not to love it. So that’s my crochet time sorted. I watch cycling on TV whilst crocheting. Thursday is my day off and I’m gonna use it for the blog and to crochet some more. That leaves the rest of the week for family time and housekeeping. Sounds like a good plan for now.

So, now that’s been sorted out, let me catch you up with what’s been happening on the crochet front. Because that’s why you are here, isn’t it.

I finished the Moorland blanket and decided that march was going to be WIP month. Finishing what I already started before starting something new.

The first WIP was a blanket I started years ago. It was my first big project. I found the pattern on internet and thought it would be a good way to learn more crochetstitches. It was really fun to make and when I came to the end of the pattern I realized that something was wrong. I was supposed to have a blanket, but it was’nt nearly long enough and the sides were curved. It was so frustrating. If it was’nt for all the time I spent on it, it would’ve probebly ended in the bin. But instead it ended up in the back of a drawer. My husband thought it would make a great cover for his car seat. So I darned in the ends and my first WIP is done. It’s now looking lovely on the backseat of the car.

Next in line were the mug cosys from my LBC. I love them, just have to find fitting mugs for it now.

A while ago I promised my mum I would make her a blanket. So in my head that’s a WIP even though I have’nd actually started it. She wants a granny square blanket in grey and pink. This is what I have so far.

As you can see, the weather is getting better, spring is in the air! So I started my spring cleaning. Having the place looking neat, I treated myself to some tulips. They looked pretty on the tabel, but there was something missing. A doily would look great underneath. Guess what I did… yes, I started a new project. But I’m glad I did, the tulips look prettier on it, don’t you think?

That’s it for now. I promise I’ll post more often, but in the meantime you can always check my Instagram for more crocheting news.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog.

Love Ilse
